A wide range of available granite stair textures – brushed, matte, flamed, and leather texture – allows for the realization of any project and the creation of unique spaces. We protect Hoder surfaces with a special sealant, ensuring that functional use does not affect the appearance or properties of our stones. They are resistant to wet environments and make cleaning easier.
Flamed
The flamed stone method results in a rough and highly textured surface. This method involves exposing the stone to high temperatures (around 1350°C), which opens its pores. This method is not used on marble.
Brushed
Natural stones, such as granite or marble, can achieve an interesting texture and gentle roughness reminiscent of coral reefs through proper processing. Brushing stone enhances the material's color saturation compared to flamed surfaces, offering much deeper and richer natural colors. For materials intended for stair projects, it is advisable to choose those that have undergone both the flaming and brushing processes. This treatment makes the material easier to maintain, which is particularly important for staircases.
Matte
This surface is matte yet smooth. It is created by grinding the material with low-grit abrasive stones.
Bush-hammered
The stone surface features regularly dispersed, almost uniformly sized matte indentations and protrusions. This texture is achieved by striking the stone with bush hammers. This treatment is often applied to specific sections of the stone, creating bush-hammered strips that can enhance traction on stair treads during use.
Anti-Slip Strips
To prevent slipping on granite, marble, or engineered stone stairs, we recommend placing anti-slip strips – either engraved directly into the stone or using adhesive anti-slip tapes at the edge of the steps.
